FTP & SSH FAQ's

How do I create an FTP account for a subdomain?

To create an FTP subaccount for a subdomain whose access is limited to the subdomain directory and any subdirectories within only do the following:

- Go to your Control Panel
- Click on the FTP Manager icon
- Click on the FTP Accounts link
- Click on the Add Account link
- After Login: enter the name of your subdomain folder
- After Password: enter a new password for your subdomain
- Click the Create button

To login to the subdomain's FTP account enter the following login info into your FTP client:

Host Name/Address: domain.com
User ID: subdomain@domain.com
Password: xxxxxxxx

Note: Your IP address can also be used as the Host Name/Address

Example:

Your domain name is xyz.com and you create a subdirectory named 123. You have created an FTP subaccount using 123 as the login/username and assigned "passwd" as the password. To login one would use:

Host Name/Address: xyz.com
User ID: 123@xyz.com
Password: passwd

Users accessing via the 123@xyz.com FTP account will only have access to the /123 directory on your account
